Drawn to intellectual property law from the moment I first encountered it in law school, I began my career in Big Law focusing on intellectual property litigation and complex transactions, representing a range of global brands.
After several years in a fast-paced law firm environment, I wanted to bring my experience to clients in a more personal and accessible way. I joined a boutique practice focused on intellectual property and advertising, where I began advising creative entrepreneurs and emerging businesses—including early leaders in the developing cannabis industry.
In 2013, cannabis was on the precipice of major growth, and the legal landscape was still largely uncharted. It was exciting to help businesses navigate novel challenges, from building protectable brands to pursuing federal intellectual property rights in a rapidly evolving market. I also had the opportunity to work closely with boundary-pushing founders shaping new consumer industries.
Not long after co-founding the organization that would become the International Cannabis Bar Association, I partnered with my colleague Shabnam Malek to launch our own practice. Together, we founded Brand & Branch LLP to provide strategic intellectual property, advertising, and commercialization counsel for visionary clients—supporting businesses as they build, protect, and grow valuable brands in emerging and established markets alike.
I founded Conley Law in 2022 to provide sophisticated intellectual property and business counsel in a more personal way.

I co-founded the National Cannabis Bar Association in 2015 because I saw a need to connect with other cannabis industry lawyers to provide clients with the best in diverse, ethical, and advanced legal services to this rapidly growing and changing industry. With the incredible amount of interest in cross-border transactions and membership from colleagues abroad, we evolved into the International Cannabis Bar Association (INCBA) to serve local, state, national, and international practices across the globe, and serve as a leading resource for cannabis law, education, and community. Today, we are proud to support over 800 attorney members worldwide.
I helped launch Provisors’ first cannabis networking group in 2017, and served as Group Leader from 2018 until 2024. In that capacity, I hosted monthly meetings attended by dozens of cannabis industry professionals, and organized other larger events throughout the year.
I've been a volunteer speaker with the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) for many years and was excited to join the BASF IP Section Executive Committee in 2025, where I currently serve as vice chair.
