Drawn to intellectual property law from the moment I first encountered it in law school, I began my career in Big Law with a focus on intellectual property litigation and transactions, representing a variety of global brands.
After earning my stripes in a large, fast-paced law firm environment, I decided it was time to use my intellectual property expertise to serve clients more personally, with superior representation and accessibility. I joined a boutique law firm with a focus on intellectual property and advertising, where I began working with clients in the nascent cannabis industry.
In 2013, the cannabis industry was on the precipice of becoming something big and the world of cannabis business law was still uncharted. It was thrilling to tackle new challenges like forging paths to federal intellectual property protection for businesses operating in this not-yet-federally-legal industry, and to work closely with creative, boundary-pushing entrepreneurs in emerging markets.
Not long after co-founding the organization that would become the International Cannabis Bar Association, I partnered with my colleague Shabnam Malek to start our own practice, focusing on intellectual property law and the cannabis industry. The timing was right, we were ready to work for ourselves, and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go all in–supporting visionary clients with a firm dedicated to their business goals and protection. Our firm, Brand & Branch LLP, was established right at the vanguard of cannabis law, offering the best practical and experienced legal counsel.
In 2022, after seven years of building and growing my first successful firm, and filled with the same entrepreneurial spirit as my clients, I launched Conley Law.
I’m proud to be a creative, practical, actually-fun-to-work-with lawyer for entrepreneurs who are tired of dealing with traditional legal counsel.

I co-founded the National Cannabis Bar Association in 2015 because I saw a need to connect with other cannabis industry lawyers to provide clients with the best in diverse, ethical, and advanced legal services to this rapidly growing and changing industry. With the incredible amount of interest in cross-border transactions and membership from colleagues abroad, we evolved into the International Cannabis Bar Association (INCBA) to serve local, state, national, and international practices across the globe, and serve as a leading resource for cannabis law, education, and community. Today, we are proud to support over 800 attorney members worldwide.
I co-founded the Bay Area Women Grow Chapter in 2014. Women Grow promotes women entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry as the end of marijuana prohibition occurs on a national scale and opportunities abound.
I helped launch Provisors’ first cannabis networking group in 2017, and served as Group Leader from 2018 until 2024. In that capacity, I hosted monthly meetings attended by dozens of cannabis industry professionals, and organized other larger events throughout the year.
